So far, Xavi, the coach of Barcelona, has given his opinion on the World Cup 2022. He says that Spain has impressed him.

La Roja's first game in Qatar was a 7-0 win over Costa Rica, which Xavi thinks was the best game of the tournament so far.

"Spain has played the best, maybe along with England in the first game, but England couldn't beat the U.S. and ended up with a tie," he said.

"Right now, Spain are at their best. I also liked Brazil and France, but Spain was so much better than anyone else that I haven't seen that before," the Barca coach said in Doha.

Luis Enrique's side now face a tough test against Germany. Hansi Flick's team lost their first game against Japan, and Xavi says they'll be under pressure to get a win.

"Spain needs to show the same character they had on day one," he said.

"The game will be even; both teams will want the ball. It will be a big fight, but Germany is under a lot more pressure than Spain to start.

Germany's record against Spain isn't the best.

Die Mannschaft have only won one of their last seven games against La Roja, and the last time they played, in 2020, they were beaten 6-0.
